The 2022/23 Chelsea Home Jersey is a tribute to one of the most innovative and important managers in club history. From 1952-1961, Ted Drake not only led Chelsea to a first ever First Division title in 1955, but ushered in changes to the culture that remain today.
Originally referred to as "the Pensioners", with an image of an Army veteran on the badge, Drake's first idea was the change to a more exciting nickname, "the Blues". Second, the badge would feature a Lion, taken from the Borough of Chelsea coat of arms.
